It’s all about relationships for us. The relationships we have with our earth, our soil, our food, our health, our community, our suppliers, are all interlinked and symbiotic. We have great relationships with our suppliers based on respect, quality, and integrity.  In other words, it’s about trust for us. We adhere to all the principles set out by the Soil Association for our organic growing, and we are comfortable that are suppliers are doing the same. We talk to our suppliers, visit them, see with our own eyes, and so can therefore be certain what we offer to our customers in the community is OK by us.  We treat our wholefood wholesalers as our ethical compass – all products and ethics researched before stocking.

When we can source locally, we do. When we can’t, we go further afield ensuring the fruit and veg is always certified organic. An organic apple from France far outweighs a locally grown apple that may have been sprayed numerous times with chemical.  We like chemical-free food, recycled household products, refills, organic, free range, high welfare, wild and local meat, game and poultry, award winning cheese and charcuterie, fresh bakery goods…..the list goes on.

We keep our own flock of pedigree Shetland sheep and are proud to offer the local community our excellent grass-fed, home-grown lamb. Truly the best we have ever tasted.
